The West Palm Beach Post ran a glory filled accolade ridden story about the good deeds and fair mindedness of the 9-12-ers of Palm Beach county today. Ripe and falling fruit from the Glen Beck ‘tree of Liberty’ … taking the country back (is the motto!) They are ‘showing some clout!’
The PB Commissioners are set to give the local 9-12 Tea Party groups their due for ethics changes in the form an anti-corruption inspector general. (Their candidate one assumes). The TP crowd is revving it up to step into larger issues local while anchoring national issues into the base ‘of matters’. Happy to have gained the ‘ear’ of local mayors (Lake Worth) where the anti-Obama movement has small yet vocal numbers, to complain and ask for resolutions to the miserable failure of our President’s mortgage program, the stimulus bill, cap & trade legislation and health care reform. The conservative right wing top list espoused by 9-12-er’s. Lake Worth is one of the neediest towns’ on the coastline for the implementation of these helpful programs. In point of fact, the majority of residents at a poverty level or below is much larger in Lake Worth than it is in say, West Palm Beach (per capita)? Still, the few isolated suburban areas not yet affected by the trickle down conservative valued fiscal / political agenda of the last nine years rallies to keep things status quo, or worse, tumble it further into a spiral of poverty and political mayhem. In the West Palm Beach area there are over 6,000 vociferous 9-12-er’s lead by Everett Wilkinson. While his collective proclaims a belief in God and the innate goodness of America (Bush style) and the supremacy of individual rights and the family over government, their rhetoric is rich in disapproval for non-Christian ideologies, the use of hate tactics and criminal / traitorous epitaphs against the highest office in the land as it bases ‘statistical data’ on ‘made up numbers’ by a fearless leader: Glen Beck. What are the 9-12 strategies / principles?
1. America Is Good. – read: Isolationism preferably White dominant isolation.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
God “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.” from George Washington’s first Inaugural address. [read: everyone else is godless and going to hell.]
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
Honesty “I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider to be the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” George Washington [this exclamation from a man who pantomimes and acts out poisoning the Speaker of the House.]
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government. [Exactly what Charlie Manson thought!… how many pedophiles would invite this kind of law?}
Marriage/Family “It is in the love of one’s family only that heartfelt happiness is known. By a law of our nature, we cannot be happy without the endearing connections of a family.” Thomas Jefferson
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
Justice “I deem one of the essential principles of our government… equal and exact justice to all men of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political.” Thomas Jefferson [In this case, many right wing conservatives should be before ethics committees in the House and Beck himself should be in court facing liable charges, incitement to violence and a host of charges.]
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
Life, Liberty, & The Pursuit of Happiness “Everyone has a natural right to choose that vocation in life which he thinks most likely to give him comfortable subsistence.” Thomas Jefferson
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
Charity “It is not everyone who asketh that deserveth charity; all however, are worth of the inquiry or the deserving may suffer.” George Washington [I got mine! So who gives a fuck about yours? The lack of charity …. Well, lets just contemplate the Hoovervilles, hobovillages and crime spree of the last Great Depression the Republican / conservatives brought on?]
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
On your right to disagree “In a free and republican government, you cannot restrain the voice of the multitude; every man will speak as he thinks, or more properly without thinking.” George Washington [Just exactly why I am a member of the ACLU]
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
Who works for whom? “I consider the people who constitute a society or a nation as the source of all authority in that nation.” Thomas Jefferson [How do support and govern a world power country without it’s citizens being answerable to an authority?… unless of course, that authority is aged and white skinned?]

Infotainment gone really over.... but folks are listening to this asshole. And he's doing some community damage. Sure, we need better oversight on local politics. Glen Beck style?
To give them their due; they are proposing changes in the face of several mis-conduct and criminal actions by local politicians over the past few years. How many politico's are in jail? Point well taken. And they make some really good points, at that. Read more...
What doesn't set well is the idea of an inspector who oversee's the county or city commission without specific anonymous criteria for the job. Whom would they report to? Who becomes the ultimate 'elected' authority?
